The department of Gastroenterology, the department of Hematology/Oncology and Immunology, and the Institute for Tumor Research (IMT) at the University of Marburg, Germany are offering several Ph.D. student and postdoc positions for independent projects in the field of Cancer Research and Drug resistance. We are a collaborating group of translational and basic scientists. recently this group has received funding from the German Research Foundation (DFG) for a clinical research group "Genetics of drug resistance in Cancer" (KFO210) and the transregio 17 on "Ras signaling in human cancer" (TR17), as well as the "Behring-Roentgen foundation" and the "German Carreras foundation" for a network of cancer- and drug resistance related projects. The goal of our joint efforts within these projects is to adress questions related to transformation and drug resistance in pancreatic cancer and leukemia. We are using whole genome technologies and mouse models to identify novel targets mediating treatment-related drug resistance to conventional and targeted therapies.

We are seeking for motivated post docs and Ph.D. students that are willing to be part of our expanding research groups.
