FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg

Lehrstuhl für Biochemie

Research at the Department of Biochemistry focuses around basic aspects of molecular plant biochemistry, physiology and plant biotechnology.

The regulation of (photosynthetic) carbon metabolism and its relevance for plant defence against phytopathogenic bacteria and fungi in crops and non-crop plants are among the central research interests.

The department equipped with up-to-date instrumentation for transcriptome analysis (Agilent), metabolome analysis (IC/LC-Qtrap-MS, IC, HPLC, Nano-HPLC) and physiological analysis (Infrared Gas Exchange-PAM-Fluorometer, Fluorescence and Absorbance Microwell Plate Reader).
