Imperial College London is one of the world’s leading Universities in Science, Medicine and Technology.  The College is autonomous and responsibility for educational strategy, policy and organisational management is vested in the Council of the College.  The Rector, Sir Richard Sykes, DSc, FRS, is the College’s academic head and chief executive officer.  Sir Roy Anderson, FRS FMedSci, at present the Chief Scientific Adviser to the Ministry of Defence, will become the next Rector of Imperial College during 2008.  The Chairman of the Court and Council is Lord Kerr of Kinlochard. Imperial College embodies and delivers world class scholarship, education and research in science, engineering and medicine, with particular regard to their application in industry, commerce and healthcare.  We will foster interdisciplinary working internally and collaborate widely externally.
