The Research Center for Infectious Diseases (Zentrum für Infektionsforschung - ZINF) and the Institute for Molecular Infection Biology have been established in 1993 at the University of Würzburg. The young investigator programm of the ZINF is closely related to the Institute for Molecular Infection Biology under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Jörg Vogel. The Research groups at the Institute for Molecular Infection Biology study several molecular aspects of infections that are caused by bacteria, parasites and fungi.
