LMU München

Gene Center Munich

Our lab studies the regulation of gene expression in Drosophila at a systems level, using a combination of molecular genetic, biochemical and computational approaches. Current research is focused on deciphering the regulatory networks responsible for generating highly defined spatio-temporal patterns of gene expression during development. A second line of investigation in the lab seeks to understand the diverse functions of glial cells in the nervous system and the underlying molecular mechanisms.

The Gene Center of the LMU Munich is an interdisciplinary institute whose 15 independent groups study gene regulation at every level, from molecular mechanism to biological system. The Center provides a dynamic, interactive and internationally diverse scientific environment, located within a vibrant biomedical research campus in Munich-Großhadern.
