PhD student position – Medical University of Greifswald, Department of Internal Medicine A, Germany

I am looking for a highly motivated PhD student who is interested in miRNAs and DNA repair. The project will focus on miRNAs targeting components of classical NHEJ and/or identification of components of alternative NHEJ. We will investigate the role of these molecules in the genesis of pancreatic cancer and their potential therapeutic value.

A student with basic knowledge in following areas is prefered:
a. DNA repair mechanisms
b. MicroRNAs biology
c. Cell culture, cell transaction and transduction
c. Immunohistochemistry and microscopy
d. Gel electrophoresis (Western blot, DNA agarose gels, pulse-field)
e. Flow cytometry (analysis and sorting)
f. DNA and RNA preparation, reverse transcription
g. PCR and quantitative PCR, primers design
h. Cloning, designing of siRNA and shRNA
i. Luciferase reporter assays
