The Institute for Molecular Infection Biology was founded in 1993 as an interdisciplinary institution at the Medical Faculty of the University of Würzburg. The members of the institute present biological problems of infectious diseases in lectures, seminars and practical courses in particular to the students of the biology department, but also to a certain extent to medical and dental students.
The Research groups at the Institute for Molecular Infection Biology study several molecular aspects of infections that are caused by bacteria, parasites and fungi.
