University and University Hospital Basel -
Department of Biomedicine/Research Group Stem Cells & Hematopoiesis

 Basel
 Employees: 1,001-5,000
We are a research group focusing on translational research in leukemia and other cancers. We are specifically interested in stem cells and in the development of strategies to target cancer stem cells (see our recent publication by Paczulla, .., Lengerke. Nature, 2019). Besides investigating primary human cells and mouse models in state of the art molecular and functional assays, we also use zebrafish models and biochemical studies to answer our research questions.

We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow (100%) and/or PhD student  (100%) with strong interest in our research field to join our research group with start upon agreement.

The applicant is expected to have a background and/or interest in cell/molecular biology. Expertise with experimentation in mice and complex flow cytometry are considered a plus. Applicants with background in other disciplines (e.g. immunology, metabolism) interested in exploring our research field are also invited to apply.

We would like to disclose that our research group might be relocating to the University of Tübingen, Germany, during the course of the next one or two years. We are thus specifically looking for candidates that might be willing to work in both places and, in case of a move, would join us in Tübingen.

Please send your CV, a statement of interest and the names of 2 references to: Prof. Claudia Lengerke, Research Group Stem Cells and Hematopoiesis, Hebelstr. 20, 4031 Basel or via e‐mail (preferred) to: claudia.lengerke@usb.ch
