The
Experimental and Translational Ophthalmology Department of the University Medical Centre of the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz is a leading eye research laboratory in Germany that focuses on the pathogenesis of various ophthalmic diseases. Our department features a well-equipped cell culture and protein-biochemistry laboratory with conventional electrophoretic systems, as well as a state-of-the-art mass spectrometry system for protein profiling and biomarker identification (

Our lab works in close cooperation with Lab-Connect UG, a biotech company, founded in 2017, initially dedicated to the development of lateral flow assays for POC diagnosis of eye diseases, including glaucoma, antibody-based treatments and reader software development. We are presently expanding our research interests to include other targets and other pathologies. With our extensive prior and present experience in lateral flow development, we are presently looking for a young scientist with at least a first degree to participate in the development and production of lateral flow tests. A PhD degree can be obtained with this position.
Development Scientist - Lateral Flow Assays (PhD)
