is a joint medical faculty, which serves both Freie Universität Berlin and Humboldt Universität zu Berlin. As one of the largest university hospitals in Europe with an important history, it plays a leading role in research, teaching and clinical care. The Charité university hospital has also made a name for itself as a modern business with certifications in the medical, clinical and management fields.
The Charité Centre for Global Health (CCGH), which Charité established in January 2023, aims to develop strong internal, local, national and international activities and partnerships in the field of global health and to support and promote research, teaching and collaboration with politics and all stakeholders in the field of global health. The Center combines the Institute of Virology, the Institute of International Health (formerly the Institute of Tropical Medicine and International Health) and the Global Engagement Unit. As part of the Global Health Policy Lab (GHPL) initiative, the CCGH collaborates with the Virchow Foundation, the Harvard Health Systems Innovation Lab (HSIL), and other international partners. The GHPL is looking for an experienced scientist in health policy to be based at the CCGH.
The GHPL (www.globalhealthpolicylab.org) aims to be the leading AI-enabled platform designed for health policy-makers, providing comprehensive tools for accessing, comparing, and generating health policies. Its vision ultimately is to make evidence-based health policy development a universal reality. The successful candidate will have a solid background in health policy and come with a high degree of motivation and self-sufficiency, to work independently as well as part of a team. In this role, the candidate will contribute to the delivery of the GHPL-s goals, in collaboration with internal and external partners. A key element of the position will be to contribute to ongoing activities, particularly the development of the annual outlook report of policy trends and the GHPL digital repository. This involves analysing and evaluating health policies, drafting analytic policy-relevant reports and other communication outputs, as well as developing impact narratives on policy-making in global health. The incumbent will participate in project management and conduct, tracking and documenting progress, adapting communications materials for various audiences, organising or facilitating face-to-face and online workshops or policy dialogue events on selected aspects of health policy. In addition, the successful candidate will contribute towards building and maintaining strategic partnerships with global and regional stakeholders from different sectors (international organisations, academia, civil society organisations, government agencies and industry). The successful candidate will be expected to keep abreast of new policy developments including digital tools, and participate in relevant events or conferences, and collaborative visits as needed.
