Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and innovative Cell Culture Specialist with a passion for translational science to join our research and development team in Reutlingen (Germany). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cell culture techniques, with a focus on primary chondrocyte culture and metabolism, and will be responsible for planning, overseeing, and executing experiments to support our research and development initiatives.
Your Role
- Contribute to and drive the development of 2D & 3D cell culture with a focus on human, cartilage derived cells.
- Design and conduct complex cell culture experiments
- Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data.
- Perform routine cell maintenance.
- Maintain detailed and accurate laboratory records.
- Prepare reports and present findings to stakeholders with various backgrounds.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (including clinical and manufacturing) to advance project goals.
You have
- PhD in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in cell culture, including primary cells.
- Experience in state-of-the-art characterization tools to analyze the quality and performance of cells.
- Proficiency in sterile technique and cell culture methodologies. Experience in antibiotic-free cell culture is a plus.
- Curious and scientific mindset, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experienced in statistical analysis, data interpretation and visualization.
- Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of German is a plus.
You might also have
- Experience with advanced cell culture techniques such as 3D cultures, bioreactors, co-cultures, and organoids.
- Experience with electronic lab notebooks (ELN) or laboratory information management systems (LIMS)
- Previous experience in a startup environment
