The position is part of the BIOCYCLING project within the DFGs (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft) special priority program on productive biofilm systems (SPP 2494). It aims to address key scientific questions to enable engineered biofilms that can upcycle PET into valuable chemicals in a scalable, continuous bioreactor. A special focus is the development of non-invasive in-line process analytics for realtime monitoring of PET degradation and biofilm growth.
The Institute for Technical Biocatalysis at the TU Hamburg develops sustainable biotechnological processes for a climate-friendly future. Our interdisciplinary, international team works with enthusiasm and scientific curiosity in an open, collegial atmosphere. Doctoral studies are research-oriented at the interface of biotechnology, chemistry and process engineering - innovative, application-oriented and in dialogue with research and industry.
