Head of Site EHS (m/f/d)
The Role & What You Will Be Doing
Every day, we rise to the challenge to make a difference and here’s how the Head of Site EHS (m/f/d) role will make an impact:
- Lead Viatris Troisdorf in developing an effective and proactive EHS culture and embed it across the site promoting both physical and psychological safety for all colleagues and contractors.
- Lead the Planning, development and implementation of robust EHS programs in order to assure continuous compliance with local legislation, Viatris standards and Industry best practice.
- Oversee the development and execution of comprehensive strategies and prioritized tactical plans which address key EHS risks for the business.
- Influence and engage at all levels to drive the EHS agenda forward, improving cultural maturity and promoting EHS Leadership.
- Manage, coach and lead the EHS Team, develop and maintain technical and behavioural competencies to ensure the delivery of optimised advice and service to the business.
- As an EHS subject matter expert, provide sound technical advice for the organization with regard to all EHS matters whilst consulting with Regional EHS as appropriate.
- Managing and conducting internal audits and EHS walkabouts ensuring the identification of practical and workable solutions to any deficiencies raised.
- Manage the EHS Curriculum for the site and provide employees with the necessary information, instruction and training in order to conduct their roles in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
- Ensure a robust investigation process for EHS incidents is in place ensuring the root causes are identified along with sustainable corrective actions which prevent reoccurrence.
- Deliver value for the business through planning and monitoring of EHS budgets for both operational and capital expenditure.
- Ensure the accurate and timely collection, reporting and diagnosis of EHS data to identify trends and areas for focused improvement.
- Manage all EHS activities with a hands-on approach.
- Ensure EHS input to major projects and all related regulatory and compliance issues.
- Ensure input in energy management systems.
About Your Skills & Experience
For this role, we’re looking for a candidate who has an effective combination of the following qualifications, skills and experiences:
- The ideal candidate will hold a master’s degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or related discipline, has a certificate as SIFA (“Sicherheitsfachkraft”) and minimum 2 years of working experience in EHS.
- A proven track record operating as an EHS lead in a pharmaceutical / chemical cGMP manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to line manage a team.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance procedures, publications, and an ability to interpret relevant legislation.
- Strong logical and clear-thinking individual.
- The maturity and professionalism to deal with colleagues in a factual and cordial manner and capable of writing concise and clear report commentary.
- Team player who fosters good will and respect in the immediate and greater team environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a matrix environment.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- C2-level German and fluent in English (written and oral).
