We are looking for support in our Biosampling/IHC unit to start as soon as possible. The successful candidate will join our team in the performance of laboratory activities. The Biosampling/IHC Unit is part of the Biomarker Development Center in TRON, aiming to identify and validate novel biomarkers involved in cancer and other diseases. Our unit supports projects at TRON and with industrial/academic cooperation partners through its expertise on histological assays. We employ state of the art technology to analyze and validate new biomarkers in spatial context, deepening the knowledge on the tumor microenvironment, and investigate biodistribution and expression of mRNA-based vaccines.
TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE (m/f/d)
Your tasks and responsibilities:
- Perform and document histological and immunohistological stainings on tissue sections (manual and automated)
- Process biospecimens (blood, serum, plasma and/or pleura effusion fluid samples, tissue)
- Biospecimen management: Keep a record of patient samples and data connected with those samples
- Instrument management of different microscopes, whole slide scanners, and automated stainers
- Assist in drafting SOPs (Standard Operating Procedure) for new processes
- Laboratory management and organization
What you bring:
- Successful completed training as a technical assistant or equivalent qualification (e.g. BTA/CTA/MTA); University graduates (BSc)
- Knowledge of histology and related techniques including immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence and previous experience would be beneficial
- Hands on experience in working under sterile conditions
- An independent, self-motivated working manner and the ability to work in an interdisciplinary team
- High flexibility in everyday business
- Fluency in German and English
