We are seeking at the earliest opportunity a

Technical Assistant (m/f) / Greenhouse plant care
for our Enabling Technologies Group


on a full time basis, initially for a 3 year fixed-term contract.
As a member of a team of molecular and cell biologists you will work in the greenhouse taking care of corn, wheat and sugar beet plants, including monitoring growth, performing pollinations and seed harvesting of transgenic plants according to quality management rules. You will be working in modern laboratories, greenhouses, and climatic chambers and will be supported by qualified technical staff.

Your Tasks:

  • Corn, wheat and sugar beet culture in greenhouse
  • Seed harvesting and processing experience
  • Crop pest and disease control experience
  • Genetic transformation basic knowledge
  • Able to work in an English speaking environment
  • Compliance with quality management system
  • Detailed documentation of daily work
  • Project development reporting

Your profile:

  • Completed vocational training for Gardener, PT, ATA, BTA or equivalent
  • Proven experience working with crop plants in the greenhouse
  • Proven experience working with transgenic crops
  • MS Office user skills and database knowledge/ experience
  • Good written and spoken English and German
  • Reliable and able to work independently, initiative and flexibility
  • Ability to instruct and supervise co-workers
  • High degree of cooperation skills and excellent team working
