Your dutiesAnalysis of the role of JNK proteins in hepatic stellate cells using mouse models of liver diseases. Your detailed duties are:
  • Treatment of genetically modified mice with substances to induce different types of liver diseases.
  • Study the onset and progression of liver fibrosis and hepatocellular carcinoma in mice.
  • Analysis of livers using histological stainings, immunofluorescence, and multi-photon microscopy.
  • Analysis of immune cell infiltration in livers using flow cytometry.
  • Analysis of gene expression changes using RNA-seq, RT-qPCR, and Western blot.
  • Characterization of functional changes of hepatic stellate cells by in vitro culture of primary cells.
Your profile
  • M.Sc. in Biology/Biochemistry/Biotechnology or similar field of study
  • strong background in Molecular Biology and/or Cell Biology
  • FELASA B certificate
  • previous experience in working with mice
  • previous experience in working with cell culture and Molecular/Cell Biology techniques
  • basic knowledge in FACS, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, RT-qPCR, and Western blot
  • written and spoken English skills are essential
  • organizational and communicational skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team
