Postdoctoral Scientist (m/f)

A position (TVL E13/E14) for a postdoctoral scientist is available in the group of Experimental Hemostaseology (Chair of Experimental Biomedicine - Vascular Biology) at the University of Würzburg, Germany. Our group works on the mechanisms of blood platelet biogenesis und function. A major focus lies on the impact of the bone marrow stroma (microenvironment) during this process.
 
The project aims to identify and characterize signaling events that regulate how megakaryocytes in the bone marrow manage to release functional platelets across the endothelial barrier without getting activated and visualize these processes by standard and advanced microscopy technologies.
 
Candidates have a PhD and have studied biology, biochemistry or related sciences and carry a strong background in cell biology, microscopy and preferably in hematology and/or mouse work. We expect high motivation for your work, interest in multi-disciplinary research and very good skills in communication and presentation.

The opening date is 01.02.2016. We offer a temporary contract which can be extended. The monthly gross salary depends on experience and qualifications according to TV-L E13 for government employees.
