starting on September 1st, 2019, initially limited for two years with the option of prolongation.

The salary grade is based on the job characteristics of the collective agreement (TV-G-U) applicable to Goethe University.

Activities and responsibilities

  • We are looking for a team player who is eager to solve scientific problems. The applicant is interested in basic science with focus on cardiology and immunology. We are employing molecular biology and cell culture models to answer highly relevant questions with focus on inflammation in the cardiovascular system.
  • Planning and conducting of experiments, general laboratory work, laboratory organization.
  • FACS-Analysis of different hematopoietic organs including primary patient samples for whole transcriptome sequencing analysis

Qualification profile

  • Degree as BTA, MTA or bachelor degree in molecular or cell biology, biochemistry or a related discipline.
  • Basic knowledge and experience in molecular biology (Genotyping, DNA- and RNA- Extraction, PCR)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in German and English
  • Excellent management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and flexibility

  • Technical skills
  • Hands on experience in molecular and cell biology laboratory techniques are advantageous
  • FELASA-B certificate is beneficial
  • Preferably skills in histology techniques and experience in flow cytometry
