The InnoProfile-Transfer research groups “Imagebased assays” and “Multiplex-Bead-Assays” (Peter Schierack, Stefan Rödiger, Claudia Liebsch) at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus – Senftenberg in Senftenberg offer the opportunity to carry out a Master thesis projects within an interdisciplinary project with strong foundations in both basic and applied research. We have an intense collaboration with small and medium-sized businesses. Our groups focus on the development of novel an innovative multi-parameter assays for life sciences and diagnostics.   • Nucleic acid detection technologies (Real-Time-PCR, Microbead-based PCR)

“Development of a highly multiplex microbead-based qPCR test for the detection and quantification of Human papillomavirus (HPV)”

Human papillomavirus (HPV) is a DNA virus and one of the most important infectious causes of cancer. About a dozen “high-risk” HPV types (including types 16, 18, 31, and 45), among the known 120 HPVs, can lead to cervical cancer. The vast number of HPV types requires technologies, which enable the fast and specific quantification of the HPVs. Therefore, we developed a real-time microbead-based qPCR test.
