One or two PhD positions (salary equivalent to 0.5 TV-L 13)
in Molecular Cell Biology
Qualified candidates with a genuine interest in fundamental matters of cell biology are invited to apply to join the group of Dr Dominik Boos. Projects will aim at elucidating molecular mechanisms and regulations of DNA replication in vertebrate cells, and in connection with cancer development. Biochemistry, microscopy, and other cell biological techniques will be used to analyse replication in manipulated cultured human cells and potentially in other metazoan model systems. Successful candidates should have a proven qualification in protein biochemistry and molecular cell biology. Candidates will benefit from the highly interdisciplinary and international research environment at the ZMB with collaborations worldwide. Association with our BIOME PhD program is intended.
The ZMB in Essen integrates medical research at the University Hospital and natural sciences at the Campus. The mission is to elucidate molecular mechanisms of disease and to turn this knowledge into medical progress.
The position will start in January 2016 for initially 3 years (earlier start possible).
