PhD position

RNA transport is essential for the communication between different organs of higher plants.
In course of the DFG funded PhD project "Phloem and RNA: identification and characterization of phloem-transported non-coding RNA molecules" phloem-mobile RNAs and RNA-binding proteins will be analyzed to understand their functions and transport mechanisms. To this end a wide spectrum of experimental techniques from molecular biology to protein biochemistry and mass spectrometry will be applied. Experience with RNA and protein work would be advantageous.
