It is an interdisciplinary project that draws from the fields of classical genetics, molecular biology and new-age technologies such as transcriptomics and proteomics.
About: The CECAD of the German Research Foundation is jointly supported by the Faculties of Mathematics and Natural Sciences and Medicine of the University of Cologne and is partnered by the Max-Planck Institute for the Biology of Aging.
Info: Cologne is a major scientific center in Europe and offers exciting opportunities for academic research. The University of Cologne is one of the German ‘Excellence’ universities and the CECAD serves as a focal point of aging research in Europe with several themes. More information on CECAD and its gradulate program can be found here: http://cecad.uni-koeln.de/Home.3.0.html
The group of Andreas Wodarz works on several aspects of Drosophila development including cell polarity and stem cells. More information about the group can be found here: http://www.anatomie.uni-koeln.de/406.html?&L=1 and http://www.stammzellen.med.uni-goettingen.de
