PhD position in Molecular Biology - Role of Sirt6 during cellular differentiation and cancer

In the field of  “Role of Sirt6 during cellular differentiation and cancer” the research group of Prof. Susanne Strand offers the following PhD project:

Role of Sirt6 during hepatocellular differentiation and tumor development

The chromatin-associated histone deacetylase Sirt6 is involved in epigenetic gene silencing. In our previous work we found a deregulation of central differentiation factors in Sirt6-deficient hepatocytes. Based on the importance of cell fate decisions in stem cell differentiation and cancer development we will analyze the role of Sirt6 in vitro and in vivo by using our well-established differentiation and tumor models. The methods that will be used to work on this project are cell culture of tumor cells, Immunoprecipitation, Western Blot, RT-PCR, RNA-Seq, RIP, ChIP, Reporter Gen Assay, Chromosome Conformation Capture, Immunofluorescence, FACS- Analysis and Confocal Laser Scanning Microscopy.

We offer
