A DFG-funded PhD position is available at the Center for Thrombosis and Hemostasis (CTH), University Medical Center Mainz, Germany.
The Center for Thrombosis and Haemostasis (CTH) is a model center to improve the integration of education, research and patient care with a translational focus. It is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) in the framework of the national program “Integrated Research Treatment Centers” (IFB).
The Center for Thrombosis and Hemostasis (CTH) is looking for a highly motivated candidate with a degree MSc in Biochemistry, Biotechnology or related field with a solid background in biochemistry/protein chemistry, molecular cell biology and with great interest in translational biomedical research.
Focus of this project is the crosstalk between inhibitory and activating signaling pathways in platelets and their consequences for platelet function. Advanced biochemical, mass spectrometry and phosphoproteomic studies will be performed and complemented by vitro functional assays.
The project includes collaborative research activities with the Leibniz-Institut für
Analytische Wissenschaften – ISAS – e.V. in Dortmund, intensive training and supervision in an interdisciplinary team, the opportunity to attend national and international conferences and diverse state-of-the-art methods integrated in the CTH platforms.
