PhD student position

Applications are invited for a PhD student position available at the Institute for Cardiovascular Regeneration at the University of Frankfurt (Germany).
Our work is focussed on cardiovascular biology, with a particular interest in aging-related processes. We aim to unravel why aging causes cardiovascular disease and we focus on the role of long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) herein. In this project we will delineate the role of lncRNAs in aging-induced dysfunction of the heart and the endothelial cells that line blood vessels.
Candidates should hold a “Diplom”, M.Sc. degree or equivalent. Experience in molecular cell biology, bioinformatics or small rodent models would be advantageous. We seek highly innovative, curious, and interactive candidates to join our team. Our research is supported by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, the LOEWE Center for Cell and Gene Therapy and the European Research Council (for further information see www.cardiovascular-regeneration.com).
