PhD student in Molecular Cell Biology/ lymphoma research

The research group of PD Dr. Sylvia Hartmann/Prof. Martin-Leo Hansmann (Dr. Senckenberg Institute of Pathology) at the Goethe-University Hospital of Frankfurt am Main is seeking a
 
PhD student in Molecular Cell Biology/ lymphoma research (TV-H E13 65% salary)
 
starting on 1 December 2014 (or later) for an initial period of three years that can be further extended. The group studies the pathogenic mechanisms of lymphomas, in particular of Hodgkin’s lymphoma cells. The candidate will be working on a project that is funded by the DFG and focused on nodular lymphocyte predominant Hodgkin lymphoma and it's borders to reactive and other neoplastic conditions. He/She will (amongst other topics) perform single cell PCR, mutation analysis of newly identified oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes by NGS, RNA expression profiling, cell culture, western blots and lentiviral transduction experiments.
We offer a stimulating environment in a young international research team. The candidate will get the opportunity to acquire a comprehensive knowledge on biological techniques (cell culture, MACS, FACS, RT-PCR, Western Blot, DNA cloning, lentiviral transduction, DNA sequencing etc).
Applicants should hold a diploma or MSc degree in biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or a similar degree. Candidates with a strong background in at least 2-3 of the above-named techniques are especially encouraged to apply. The candidate is expected to be a motivated team worker. Confidence in spoken and written English is a requirement.
