The Max Delbrueck Center for Molecular Medicine (MDC), Neuroproteomics, Prof. Erich Wanker is looking to fill
a PhD position (f/m)
associated to the Collaborative Research Center - Sonderforschungsbereich 740 “From Molecules to Modules: Organisation and Dynamics of Functional Units in Cells” funded by the German Research Foundation – Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft.

We are looking for candidates who have completed a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline and possess solid foundations in biochemistry, molecular biology and cell biology. A special focus will be on investigations in fly models, so a background in Drosophila genetics and experience in raising and maintaining fly lines is highly welcome.
The research group of Prof. Wanker pursues highly competitive research aims in the fields of protein misfolding, chemical biology, interactomics and neurodegeneration.
Successful candidates are expected to be highly motivated to become achievers in science. Inquisitiveness, a high level of application, excellent lab and conceptual skills, diligence, reliability and willingness to develop writing skills are required. Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as well as ability to collaborate in an interdisciplinary team.
