PhD student position, preferentially cell biology, biochemistry, veterinarian

The Institute for Molecular and Clinical Immunology, Medical Faculty of the Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg, is offering a
 
PhD student position, preferentially in cell biology, biochemistry or for a veterinarian
 
from October 1st, 2014. We offer an E13 TV-L 65% position, initially limited for 3 years with the option for extension contributing to an exciting research project analyzing the functional role of immunoproteasomes in hematopoietic and neural cells. The position will be part of the SFB854 as a project in the “Twin area” analyzing the interplay between the nervous and the immunological system. The focus of the project will lay on the analysis of immune cells in infections affecting the central nervous system in established mouse models. The candidate will be part of a highly motivated team and working environment within an institute and campus with excellent research facilities (for e.g. 2-Photon-Microscopy, Cell Sorting).
 
We are looking for a candidate with:
  • an excellent graduate degree (diploma; M.Sc. or equivalent) in natural sciences or a veterinarian
  • strong background and experience in the work with mice
  • experience in innovative cell culture and immunological techniques
  • excellent communication skills in English in speaking and writing
  • high motivation for working in an international team
