research associate (wissenschaftliche/r Angestellte/r: Doktorand/in)

The university (MIN Fakulty)' will have a position open for a research associate  – salary group 13 TV-L – with a starting from now on for the following project:
 
CUI B.2.1 Structures of large protein translocation machines.

The position calls for 19.25 hours per week. A time limited contract will be offered with a maximum duration of three years (see also §2 of the Academic Fixed-Term Contract Law (Wissenschaftszeitvetragsgesetzt)).

Responsibilities: A research associate’s duties include academic service for the above project. Outside of these tasks associates have the opportunity to further their academic education, in particular through the completion of a doctoral dissertation. Results obtained by the associate through project work may be used for the dissertation.

Area(s) of Responsibility:
High resolution imaging and structural biology of the translocation pore and effector proteins (YopM) of the Yersinia Type Three Secretion System.
Formation and activity of the membrane bound pores and protein complexes will be visualized in cells using high end light microscopy, laser and x-ray sources.
In vitro reconstituted pore and protein complexes will be investigated using crystallography- and laser optical methods.

Requirements:
The candidate should have experience in molecular biology, microbiology and protein purification.

Preference will be given to disabled applicants with equal qualifications.
