Postdoc kidney diseases

A position for a postdoctoral scientist (TV-L 13) is available at the Institute of Experimental Immunology of the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn (Director Prof. Dr. Christian Kurts).
We are interested in the immune mechanisms underlying kidney diseases with a focus on the role of dendritic cells in glomerulonephritis and renal infection (see Heymann et al, JCI2009; Hochheiser et al, JCI2013; Tittel et al, Nat Methods 2012; Kurts et al, Nat Rev Immunol 2013; Schiwon et al, Cell 2014). Our institute is embedded into the Excellence Cluster ImmunoSensation in Bonn, the DFG SFBTR57, the KFO228 and the EU Consortium INTRICATE. The project addresses the roles of dendritic cells, innate lymphocytes, complement and chemokines in various murine disease models of the kidney and other organs.
Required is a PhD in Biology, Molecular Medicine, Biomedicine or in similar fields. Also MDs with broad experience in experimental disease research are very welcome to apply. Previous experience in nephritis models and in vivo immunological research are desirable. The ideal candidate possesses a keen interest in immunological research questions, is highly motivated and capable of integrating into a young, dynamic and successful research team.
