Postdoc Position

The University of Kiel is offering a Postdoc position (3 years) in Biochemistry
in the group of Prof. Dr. Christoph Becker-Pauly, starting on April 1st, 2015.

The group is embedded within the Collaborative Research Centre CRC877. The general aim of the CRC877 is to obtain a profound understanding of proteolytic processes in cellular regulation and signaling and define the involvement of such processes in human pathophysiology. Our aim is to transfer biochemical characteristics of certain metalloproteases to their biological functions in health and disease. To succeed, we combine different approaches: biochemistry, cell culture, animal models, and proteomics (Broder et al., 2013, PNAS; Jefferson et al., 2013, Mol Cell Life Sciences; Bien et al., 2012, JBC; Becker-Pauly et al., 2011, Mol Cell Proteomics).

We invite highly motivated candidates for an application who want to work in an interdisciplinary field that connects basic research with clinical trials. Candidates should have a strong background in biology/biochemistry/medicine. Experience with protein expression, cell culture, and mouse models is advantageous.
The salary is in accordance with the German Tarifvertrag für den öffentlichen Dienst (TVöD Bund): salary group E13 (100%).

Interested candidates should send their cover letter, CV, publication list (Pubmed entries only), and contact information of one or two referees in PDF format to cbeckerpauly@biochem.uni-kiel.de
