The Regulatory Genomics Laboratory at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Biomedicine in Muenster, Germany is offering

Postdoctoral Positions
(position code 16-2014)

in Epigenetics and Computational Biology.

The Laboratory, headed by Juan M Vaquerizas, seeks to appoint highly motivated scientists to work on computational analyses of genome organisation and evolution. In particular, the successful candidate will analyse genome-wide gene expression and chromatin binding datasets to investigate how gene expression is controlled to determine cellular fate during embryonic development and tissue differentiation. The specific tasks will include:
  • Analysis of RNA-seq, GRO-seq and ribo-tagged RNA preparations.
  • Analysis of protein-DNA interactions using ChIP-seq
  • Analysis of chromatin-chromatin interactions using Hi-C
  • Development of computational algorithms to integrate different sources of genomic data

Requirements
We are looking for enthusiastic and talented Postdoctoral Fellows with a PhD degree in computational biology, bioinformatics, computer science, (bio)-statistics, mathematics, or related fields, and with a strong drive to excel in a highly international and collaborative environment. Previous experience in genome-wide data analysis (eg, RNA-seq or ChIP-seq) will be a significant advantage. Please make sure that you specify your level of proficiency in dealing with genomics data in your cover letter.

Terms of employment
The positions are on fixed-term appointments for two years with the possibility of further extension following a successful evaluation. The earliest starting date for the position is 1 Nov 2014.
