We are seeking three enthusiastic, highly motivated and creative postdoctoral scientists to join the department of Bioprocess and Analytical Development at Boehringer Ingelheim. Our department focus on the development of mammalian cell culture upstream-, downstream and analytical production processes for different antibody formats.

The Post Doc-projects aim at investigating new technologies towards a next generation development platform were upstream, downstream and analytical perspectives are seamlessly connected and interlinked.
With your scientific knowhow and innovative ideas, you contribute to the developing and implementation of new approaches for e.g. continuous processing and/or high throughput analytics using Process Analytical Technology (PAT) ), analytical characterization of therapeutic proteins and/or therapeutic protein production and characterization and/or the development and expansion of in-silico mathematical model approaches to further describe and understand upstream and downstream processes.

The advertised positions are part of the global Boehringer Ingelheim Post Doc Program. Tasks & responsibilities     

  • As Principal Investigator of technology projects, you combine advanced mechanistic and statistical modelling approaches with bioengineering knowledge and/or sophisticated (process) analytical Tools
  • Additionally, you are responsible for the supervision, steering and cross-project communication of your project
  • With your strong communication skills you are the representative at project related interfaces and customers
  • You are responsible for compiling of reports (English) as well as for supervision of students
  • Furthermore, you publish your results in peer-reviewed scientific journals and present your work at international conferences
  • With that, you can expect strong international interactions with neighboring expert functions across the Boehringer Ingelheim Network.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in BioInformatics, (Bio-)Process Engineering, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or related fields
  • Experience in-silico process design and/or in mathematical modelling (e.g. MatLab or Phyton based) of bioprocesses data and/or in analyzing therapeutic protein production and characterization is a plus
  • Work experience in bioanalytics and / or protein characterization and purification and / or CHO cell culture / fermentation (e.g. during thesis) is beneficial
  • A proactive and well-organized working manner, excellent organizational skills and the ability to respond to changing priorities and short lead times for multiple tasks
  • Inspiring mindset and strong in working within existing teams as well as forming and establishing new teams and collaborations   
  • Excellent communication skills as well as sound technical writing and documentation competencies (English)
