Scientific Project Manager (m/f/d) – Euro-BioImaging Bio-Hub

About EMBL

We are Europe’s flagship research laboratory for the life sciences – an intergovernmental organisation performing scientific research in disciplines including molecular biology, physics, chemistry and computer science. We are an international, innovative and interdisciplinary laboratory with more than 1600 employees from many nations, operating across six sites, in Heidelberg (HQ), Barcelona, Hinxton near Cambridge, Hamburg, Grenoble and Rome. Our mission is to offer vital services in training scientists, students and visitors at all levels; to develop new instruments and methods in the life sciences and actively engage in technology transfer activities, and to integrate European life science research. The working language of the institute is English.

About Euro-BioImaging Bio-Hub

The Euro-BioImaging Bio-Hub hosted by the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) is seeking for a highly motivated Science Project Manager to support the operation of the newly established European research infrastructure Euro-BioImaging ERIC ( regarding user access to our technology portfolio, engagement with the imaging community and outreach activities to researchers in the life sciences. In October 2019, the European Commission has officially established Euro-BioImaging – which provides life scientists with open access to a broad range of technologies and resources in biological and biomedical imaging – as a European Research Infrastructure Consortium (ERIC). Establishment of the Euro-BioImaging ERIC builds on over 10 years of preparatory work with active engagement of 25 national imaging communities, funded by the European Commission and coordinated by EMBL. Euro-BioImaging offers life scientists open access to imaging instruments, expertise, training opportunities, and data management services that they do not find at their home institutions or among their collaboration partners. All scientists, regardless of affiliation, area of expertise, or field of activity, can benefit from these pan-European open access services. Euro-BioImaging offers state-of-the-art imaging services through its internationally renowned facilities, called Nodes. These Nodes are distributed across Euro-BioImaging’s 15 founding members. The management entity of Euro-BioImaging, the so-called Hub, is distributed across three sites: the legal seat is based in Finland, the Med-Hub in Italy, and the Bio-Hub is hosted by EMBL in Heidelberg, Germany. This post is for the Bio-Hub at EMBL.
