Associate Technical Assistant Product Development

 
with a fixed – term contract for 2 years.

Job Summary

The primary focus of the new position will be product development at Juno Therapeutics GmbH in Munich.
The key deliverables for this role are completing routine molecular biology and protein engineering assignments with a high quality and timely output.
 
  • Performing routine assignments in molecular biology and protein engineering (cloning, transformation and cultivation of E. coli, SDS-PAGE, protein expression, protein purification, mutagenesis, ELISA, Western Blot, etc.).
  • Chemical modification of proteins, labelling and crosslinking.
  • Construction of random libraries.
  • Generation and execution of stability testing assays.
  • Generation, completion and verification of documentation related to process protocols and standard operating procedures.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Perform cloning of expression plasmids, protein expression, protein purification (IEX, HIC, SEC, AC), protein modification (labelling, crosslinking).
  • Generate, complete and verify documentation related to process protocols and standard operating procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with internal colleagues to align the daily work.

Required Qualifications
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in an industrial environment.
  • Protein purification using chromatographic methods (affinity chromatography, ion exchange chromatography, size exclusion chromatography) and handling of FPLC systems (e.g. ÄKTA)
  • Molecular biological and biochemical methods (SDS-Page and Western Blot, modification of proteins).
  • Professional level of experience in the operation of analytical equipment (HPLC, Bioanalyzer, Äkta, Photometer).
  • Excellent team player.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with tight timelines, being able to shift priorities as required.
  • Taking pleasure in instructing of less experienced colleagues.
  • Familiarity with ISO requirements is preferred.
  • Effective organizational skills as well as a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills in German and English.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office. 
 
Education Requirements
  • Bachelor in biology, biotechnology, chemistry or equivalent job experience in the biopharmaceutical industry.
