We seek a post-doctoral molecular biologist for the BMBF funded collaborative project "New Enzymes and Metabolites for Bioeconomy". We established a unique culture collection of fungi, actinomycetes, and micro-algae from Vietnam. The successful applicant will join a team which currently isolates bio-economically important enzymes and characterizes microbial strains with antifungal activity. The project would suit candidates with experience in microbial molecular genetics. Techniques to be applied include genome scale transcription analysis, gene overexpression in different systems, and protein characterization. She/he will be involved in the coordination of the project between our partners at the Department of Microbial Biotechnology, Vietnam National University of Agriculture; Metabolomic Discoveries, Potsdam; and the Fraunhofer Institute for Molecular Biology and Applied Ecology IME, Hamburg.
PHD in a relevant subject. Some knowledge of chemistry and bioinformatics would also be beneficial.
The University aims to increase the number of women in research and teaching and explicitly encourages women to apply. Equally qualified female applicants will receive preference. Severely disabled applicants will receive preference over equally qualified non-disabled applicants.
