Life Scientist - Flow Cytometry, Clinical Trials Services (m/f/d)

Scientists & Senior Scientists ‐ Flow Cytometry ‐ Clinical Trials Services

Epiontis GmbH, part of Precision for Medicine, develops assays and run global logistics using biomarkers to stratify patients, incomparably improving client's R&D efficiency and success. We handle every aspect of clinical trials from sites to biomarkers to diagnostics. Precision Medicine Group, LLC is the leading global provider of precision medicine research services and creative commercialization solutions for life sciences companies. After completing the largest private investment raise of a life sciences services company in 2012, we have rapidly grown through a series of acquisitions and 20%+ annual organic growth to more than 1,500 people in over 25 offices across the U.S., Canada and Europe.

We are unusually positioned for continued growth as we expand the company’s global footprint and develop leadership in the most creative areas of life sciences as we help our clients develop and deliver lifesaving medical treatments to patients across the world.

Scientists and Senior Scientists design and run flow cytometry cell based assays to support clinical and translational research, including but not limited to receptor occupancy, immuno‐phenotyping and intracellular flow assays. Scientist would be developing and running complex flow cytometry projects (up to 18 colors) through assay development, validation, and execution in a timely manner. These roles are unlimited and full‐time.

You can be part of helping patients gain access to the treatment they need. Our Biorepository facilities currently house over 25 million specimens. Sr. Scientists will handle the day to day running and maintenance of the Precision Berlin, flow core facility and team. Most samples are from clinical trials and therefore irreplaceable, therefore all assays are performed according to SOPs. You will support development of new procedures, writing of relevant SOPs and improvement of existing SOPs.

Your Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Design and perform complex Flow cytometry (Fortessa X20 and Canto), using both real time samples and previously cryopreserved samples
  • Responsible for the Precision Berlin flow core facility; maintenance of equipment and HTS, CS&T tracking to ensure laser alignments and instrument performance
  • Design and run flow PBMCs and/or whole blood assays including receptor occupancy, immunophenotyping and other flow cell based assays
  • Design and run flow assays using viable tumor tissue that requires dissociation prior to flow
  • Train and direct a team (1‐3 people initially) of technical flow cytometry and technical experts
  • Design and perform experiments, independently and accurately analyze and present data
  • Achieve high quality output and build efficiency into improving productivity metrics
  • Assist in establishing and improving all procedures and required SOP documentation
  • Troubleshoot and correct routine scientific issues/problems
  • Identify, update and implement emerging laboratory techniques
  • Maintain and support safe lab practices and environment
  • Work collaboratively with other technical teams, including those that are US based, in resource sharing and providing technical expertise
  • Support new equipment operational qualifications and performance checks
  • Monitor Product and Service/R&D related project expenses
  • Act as a scientific resource externally to clients and internally

Minimum Required:
Scientist:
  • Master’s Degree in life sciences or other relevant field
  • 5 years of relevant laboratory experience including hands on experience with high complexity flow cytometry
Senior Scientist:
  • Master’s Degree in life sciences or other relevant field with 10 years of relevant laboratory experience or; Ph.D. in life sciences or other relevant field with 6 years of relevant laboratory experience
Other Required:
  • Hands on experience with high complexity flow cytometry
  • Expert level flow cytometry skills using both whole blood and isolated cells
  • Proven skills in monitoring cell‐mediated immunity through flow cytometry
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills required
  • Ability to organize and analyze data, as well as, prepare reports
  • Possess strong computational skills, preferably experienced with Word, Excel, Power Point, GraphPad Prism, Diva, and Flowjo
