We are offering at the Max von Pettenkofer Institute – Institute for Medical Microbiology and Hygiene – of Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, a position as
Ph.D. student (m/f) TV-L E13 (65%)

The position will be available from January 2019 at the Max von Pettenkofer Institute (Munich city center).

Activities and responsibilities

The applicant will participate in a project on ”Innate immune modulation by the stomach pathogen Helicobacter pylori“(funded by the German Research Foundation within the center grant SFB 900), conducted in the group of Prof. Dr. Christine Josenhans.

Qualification profile

We are seeking highly motivated individuals which would like to perform their Ph.D. in an interdisciplinary environment and international group. We anticipate applicants with an excellent previous scientific training, very good communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. We offer an excellent research environment, access to a wide variety of techniques, and the possibility to participate in a structured graduate program of LMU, including lectures, seminars, and skills courses.
Applicants with a completed undergraduate degree (Master, Diploma or equivalent) in the life sciences, biomedical or natural sciences will be considered.
Experience in microbiology, safe handling of human pathogens, cellular biology or biochemical methods will be beneficial for successfully conducting the project.
