The Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics is an international research institute with approximately 250 employees, working in the field of medical genomics.

PhD position
Code 15-21 M 
is available immediately.
The research interest of our group is based in the field of mitochondrial pathologies. Furthermore, we provide MS service for the entire Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics. Primary objectives for the candidate (f/m) include, but are not limited to: System medicine of the liver, as part of a BMBF funded research network.
The applicant (f/m) should hold a masters degree / diploma in biology, biochemistry or a related field. The applicant (f/m) must show strong written and oral communication skills and a substantial interest in mass spectrometry. Expertise and hands-on experience, i.e., in quantitative mass spectrometry (nanoLC-MS/MS) with additional experience in sample preparation for proteomics and metabolomics and bioinformatics are highly desirable.
Responsibilities will include development and execution of experiments, data analysis, manuscript preparation, presentation of results and working with collaborators and other members of the research team.
The position is limited to 3 years with the opportunity of prolongation and funded by the BMBF (Federal Ministry of Education and Research; E13, 50%).
