PhD-Position available

The Hannover Medical School, the Department of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Endocrinology is currently offering a position for a PHD Student for a research project funded by the Else Kröner-Fresenius Stiftung.
We utilize novel and genetically highly flexible mouse models (Saborowski et al. PNAS 2013; Saborowski et al. Genes and Development 2014), to elucidate the role of potential cancer genes during tumor initiation and maintenance of pancreaticobiliary cancers and to assess the potential therapeutic implications of candidate drug targets (Saborowski, Davare et al. PNAS 2013). These technologies facilitate a rapid evaluation of defined genetic alterations using regulatable RNAinterference technology or CRISPRs in live mice and are combined with unbiased in vitro shRNA screening approaches (Saborowski, Lito et al. Cancer Cell 2014).
The successful candidate is expected to hold a master’s degree/diploma in molecular biology, biochemistry, biology or a related field, is highly motivated and willing to work in a competitive research field as a member of an international and multidisciplinary team.
