The research group „Cell Biology of Human Papillomaviruses“ (Florin Laboratory)
at the Institute of Medical Microbiology and Hygiene, University Medical Center Mainz invites applications for a PhD position (3 years) in Cell Biology/Virology.

Human papillomaviruses are small DNA tumour viruses that inflict a significant burden of disease on the population. The clinical manifestations caused by HPV range from anogenital warts and laryngeal papillomas to cancers at anogenital sites, on the skin and in the oropharynx.
 
The project focuses on cell biological aspects of virus entry/intracellular transport (for recent publications see Spoden et al., 2008 and 2013; Scheffer et al., 2013 and 2014). The project is funded by the DFG.

Your profile:
  • M.Sc. in life sciences
  • Applicants should be highly motivated
  • Experience in cell biology, molecular biology and/or biochemistry is preferred
  • Excellent academic record
  • Proficiency in English
