The section Molecular Membrane Biology in the Department of Biology/Chemistry at the University of Osnabrueck is looking for a
Research Assistant (m/f)
(Salary Grade 13 TV-L, 65 %)
The position is limited to 3 years with the opportunity to obtain a PhD.
Description of Responsibilities
The Fröhlich group is interested in lipid homeostasis and membrane dynamics, using yeast as a discovery tool to identify the underlying mechanisms (see Fröhlich et al., eLife 2015). This PhD project will focus on the systematic analysis of regulators of sphingolipid homeostasis, using a combination of high throughput approaches such as mass spectrometry based proteomics and lipidomics and chemical genetic screening.
The successful candidate (m/f) should be excited about research in molecular cell biology and hold a master's degree/diploma in biology, biochemistry, chemistry or bio-informatics, and have experimental experience in techniques in biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology or related disciplines. Experience with the use of statistical software (R or MATLAB) are advantageous.
