The research group Diagnostic and Molecular Virology (head: Prof. Nicole Fischer) is looking for a highly motivated PhD student with a master degree (or equivalent) in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Infection Biology or equivalent and experience in molecular biology and virology.
The starting date is 01.01.2017. Payment and social benefits will be in accordance with the regulations of the German TV-AVH (salary agreement for public service employees).
Work in the group of Nicole Fischer is focusing on molecular mechanisms of polyomaviral persistence and transformation. The specific PhD student will be integrated in the research on the human tumor virus Merkel Cell Polyomavirus and its role in tumorigenesis. The project of the PhD student will focus on the epigenetic changes and consequences of Merkel Cell Polyomavirus infections.
