PhD student- Neuroproteomics and Biomarker research (m/f)

The department of Neurology of the University Medical Center is instantly looking for our research group for a PhD student.

Our research focuses on the identification and validation of new (protein) biomarkers for neurodegenerative diseases and the study of pathophysiological mechanisms of neurological disorders.

Your tasks:
Proteomic approaches (shotgun proteomics, iTRAQ)
Quantitative mass spectrometry (multiple reaction monitoring)
Standard molecular biological techniques to study alterations in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and tissue/cell lysates in neurodegenerative diseases.

Your profile:
You have a diploma or master degree in biology, molecular medicine or related field with above average performance
Great interest in mass spectrometry
You are highly motivated to present and publish scientific results on national/international meetings and in scientific journals
Experience with mass spectrometry/proteomics is advantageous but not necessary.
The PhD student is also encouraged to participate in the international PhD programme in Molecular Medicine
