The University Duisburg-Essen (Campus Essen), Faculty of Chemistry, Biofilm Centre department of Aquatic Microbiology, offers a position as

PhD student position (f/m)
(salary equivalent to TV-L 13)

Your tasks:
Participation in the research project ERC Project EcOilogy with the focus on studying the structure of biofilms of oil degrading communities with CLSM and Raman microscopy. The project intends to reveal how microorganisms can make a living in small water droplets enclosed in oil.

Your profile:
We expect a master degree in biology/chemistry, water science or related disciplines.
Experience with anaerobic cultivation and microscopy or Raman microscopy is preferred.

Start of position:            as soon as possible
Contract period:            36 months
Working time:                65 %
