Postdoctoral position in the field of downstream processing and protein analytic

Join our scientific team in a key position and be responsible for the the development of downstream processes for the production and recovery of bioactive molecules from different expression systems (bacteria, yeasts, insect cells) and the corresponding protein analysis. You will work in an interdisciplinary team on the identification of molecules with potential for application in industrial biotechnology, medicine and plant protection. Your work will include, but not limited to, designing, performing and evaluating the downstream processing of bioproduct product research (isolated active ingredient). The publication of result is also part of your job as well as the supervision of doctoral students.

What we expect from you
  • You have successfully completed your studies with a PhD degree in the areas of biotechnology, bioprocess engineering, biochemical engineering, chemistry or acomparable field
  • You have In-depth experience in isolation of biomolecules (proteins, peptides, small molecules) as well as in separation techniques and chromatography products
  • Knowledge and experience in biotechnology and chemistry and drug development as well as postdoctoral experience in the described area are also desired
  • You are an independent worker, analytical thinker and have a high degree of creativity
  • A good publication record is as self-evident as a very good knowledge of English, German is a plus
  • You like to work in a multicultural, highly motivated team and are characterized by your communication skills
  • You are enjoying the supervision of doctoral students and students

Appointment, remuneration and social security benefits based on the public-sector collective wage agreement (TVöD). Additionally Fraunhofer may grant performance-based variable remuneration components.
The working time consists of 39 hours per week.
The position is initially limited until 31.12.2016.
In case of identical qualifications, preference will be given to severely disabled candidates.
