Research Associate, Science Manager for the Luxemburgish Elixir Node

The University of Luxembourg is a multilingual, international research University.
The Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB) of the University of Luxembourg is a highly dynamic working environment. The LCSB is building up the Luxembourgish representation in the European bioinformatics infrastructure ELIXIR. This Luxembourgish ELXIR Node hosted in the LCSB will be dedicated to translational medicine data management.
To support us in the establishment and running of the Luxembourgish ELIXIR Node, we are looking for a:
 Research Associate / Science Manager for the Luxembourgish ELIXIR Node (m/f)
  • Fixed-term contract for 3 years, 40hours/week, renewable

You will provide comprehensive support to the ELIXIR-Luxembourg Head of Node in the establishment, organisation and strategy development of the Node.
  • To collect, summarize and provide data and informations creating a base for strategic decisions,
  • To liaise with different stakeholders inside and outside the country for the identification and preparation of common initiatives,
  • To engage in writing national and international collaborative grants,
  • To engage in fundraising to gain further financial support by public and private funders,
  • To initiate, manage and monitor strategically relevant activities of the Node with team members and other stakeholders,
  • To do background research, compiling of information reports and contribution to the conceptual development and the positioning in international initiatives,
  • To provide support in conceptional design and preparation of presentations,
  • To provide summaries and a diligent follow-up of strategic meetings,
  • To engage actively in the organisational tasks around the execution of the Node.
  • PhD in biomedicial or computational sciences.
  • Knowledge of the interface between biological and clinical research is required.
  • Basic knowledge of bioinformatics and / or computational sciences and a willingness to acquire further knowledge is necessary.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing in English and at least orally in French or German.
  • Proven experience of collaborative research, research management and project management tools and techniques.
  • Experience of working independently and in a team-orientated, collaborative environment.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills, excellent interpersonal skills and strong communication skills are required.
  • Ability to effectively organise, prioritise and execute tasks in a highly dynamic environment.
