At TU Dresden, DFG-Center for Regenerative Therapies the junior research group Pancreatic β-cell Biology and Regeneration (Dr. Nikolay Ninov) is looking for a highly motivated and talented
Research Fellow

The position is available starting as soon as possible and entails 65% of the fulltime weekly hours. We offer a contract for initially 18 months with the possibility of extension. The period of employment is governed by § 2 Fixed Term Research Contract Act (WissZeitVG). The position offers the chance to obtain further academic qualification (e.g. PhD).
The research interests of our group “Pancreatic β-cell Biology and Regeneration” focus on applying drug-screens, molecular biology and imaging techniques, in order to study the development and regeneration of the insulin-secreting beta-cells in the pancreas. We are using the zebrafish as a model organism.
Position and Requirements: The position we offer is part of a project in which we aim to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying beta-cell development and regeneration. In this context, a particular focus is placed on generating disease models in zebrafish by genome-editing techniques.
We aim at attracting the best talent in the respective research fields and expect the following: an outstanding university degree (Master or equivalent) in Biology, Biomedicine or similar; experience in cell biology and molecular/biochemical methods; ability to work in an international team; inter- and multidisciplinary thinking; high motivation; an integrative and cooperative personality with excellent communication and social skills; fluency in English – written and oral.
