We are seeking a full time

Scientist (m/f/d)

in the area of murine embryonic stem cells

Could you be the next great Taconic employee?

Your tasks include:

  • Keep up to date with the most modern scientific developments and technologies within murine embryonic stem cell culturing and imparting these details to colleagues at all levels.
  • On-going scientific evaluation of techniques, methods and strategies used in the cell culture group and analysis of the effect of up/downstream deliverables on overall processes.
  • Work closely with production management and laboratory colleagues on potential improvements.
  • Cooperation in the analysis and elimination of quality problems
  • In addition, you will actively participate in the laboratory and work on demanding customer projects. This includes:
  • Performing transfection experiments with murine embryonic stem cells (ES cells) to produce recombinant clones for later microinjection into blastocysts
  • Evaluation, maintenance and care of ES cells (thawing, splitting, cryopreservation) in different formats (96 well plates up to 15cm dishes)
  • Preparation of cells for molecular biological analyses
  • Production, inactivation and plating of fibroblasts
  • Documentation of experiments in our database

Your profile:

  • You have completed your university studies of biology with a doctorate degree
  • You have experience in the cultivation and transfection of primary cells, iPS cells and/or stem cells (murine or human)
  • You are highly motivated and reliable and are characterised by a prudent, structured way of working
  • You have very good German and English language skills
  • You have the necessary flexibility to work in other laboratory areas if required
  • You bring the willingness to work on weekends from time to time
