For our department of research and international collaboration, we are offering a position as
 
Epidemiologist (m/f) or Scientist (m/f) with epidemiological work experience
 
As WHO-Supranational Reference Laboratory of Tuberculosis (TB) we are performing operational research projects with our partners in seven TB high prevalence countries. We are offering the position of a scientist with skills in management and analysis of large and complex data collections. Our USAID funded StopTTH project is realized in close collaboration with the National TB program and Reference Laboratory of the Kyrgyz Republic, ABT associates, fhi360, and KNCV-TB. The consortium aims to measure and compare transmission of tuberculosis in Kyrgyz hospitals and in the community.

Activities and responsibilities

  • Amalgamate data from two clinical and two laboratory study sites including whole genome sequencing data from 1000 bacterial isolates in a large database;
  • Epidemiologically analyse data with regards to frequency, relevance and risk factors of TB transmission;
  • Coordinate, guide, and supervise the on-site data collection teams and data managers;

Qualification profile

  • Master degree or diploma in epidemiology, public health, biology, or life sciences;
  • Working experience in statistical analysis of complex data sets from at least two scientific studies;
  • Fluent proficiency in spoken and written English (min. C1), at least basic knowledge in German language; additional language skills (Russian) are considered an asset;
  • At least two first author manuscripts published in international, peer-reviewed scientific journals;
  • Strong capacities as team player and communicator!
